Since ACI’s inception in the mid 1980’s as a Centre for training pastors and laity in the vital areas of gospel and culture engagement, it has grown to become a postgraduate research and training Institute fully accredited by the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Education, with a Presidential Charter to award its own degrees.

The hard work and visionary leadership of the founding Rector, the late Rev. Prof. Kwame Bediako, has ensured that our 30 years plus in ministry have seen much fruit, training persons of many Christian denominations from over 21 African countries, the USA, Canada, Australia, Korea and UK at MA, MTh and PhD levels to relate their Christian faith to their cultures and so become more effective communicators of the gospel in the task of mission of our time.

ACI has built a reputation for excellence in its academic programmes. ACI also continues an active programme of church-, and parachurch-related workshops to strengthen the cultural witness of the churches at the grassroots.

As we thank God for His faithfulness and provision over the past 30 plus years in ministry, we also continue to recognise the need for new partners who will stand with us to help us continue to equip Christian leaders and professionals for effective ministry in our African context.
