Inauguration of CISEA

 

The Centre for Interfaith Studies and Engagement in Africa (CISEA) was inaugurated on Friday, 11th September with a lecture delivered by Rev. Dr. Johnson Mbillah (Research Fellow, ACI/CISEA and former General Advisor of PROCMURA) and chaired by the Rector on the theme: “Called to Good Neighbourliness and Constructive Engagement with Other Faiths”. The Rt. Rev. Prof. J. O. Y. Mante, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana was the Guest of Honour.

The Council, Faculty, Staff and Alumni of ACI as well as Christians from different denominations, Muslims and Traditional Leaders participated in the inaugural ceremony. The total number of participants was a little over ninety. The Offices of the Centre were dedicated by the Moderator after the lecture.

The Centre has as its primary mission to equip Christian leaders, resource Christian scholars and develop biblically-based reflection on interfaith issues in general and Muslim-Christian interface in Africa in particular through teaching, research, publications and consultancy.
